Oriental Dancer

Spreading the joy of creative movement is Meleah's goal. Her style of Oriental dance is the perfect blend of techinque and creativity. She believes the dance should be the embodiment of the music and the dancer's unique personality.

Meleah puts her heart and soul into her dance, showing sensuality, joy, warmth, and passion. She enjoys exploring the many layers of the dance. Her style is innovative, dramatic, graceful.

Her students learn how to express themselves and how to show their personalities. Meleah shows effective techinques for adding flair and drama to the dance. She has a broad background in dance, and emphasizes technique and alignment with every movement. Through strength and training, comes grace and technique.

Meleah has been teaching and performing for over fifteen years. She has appeared on TV several times and has danced and taught from Canada to Brazil. She is a featured dancer in several San Diego nightclubs and restaurants.

Meleah teaches regular classes and also loves to work one on one to help fine tune styling and develop choreography. Her classes are fun and energetic. Everyone gets a workout.

Meleah has also developed a hybrid style, “Afro-Belly.” This new style combines the isolated techniques of belly dance with the earthier, aerobic qualities of African dance. She has produced a video, “The Afro-Belly Workshop,” teaching this exciting style.

Makeup Artist

Meleah has been a professional makeup artist since 1980. She ventured into the makeup industry from being a professional model, where she became adept at creating new looks and stage makeup. She works with students in workshops and individually, guiding them into a look suiting their style and coloring. Meleah's talent lies in bringing out the "hidden" assets in everyone's face.

Meleah developed her own line of cosmetics to suit the needs of the dancer. Her makeup is known for its long-wearing qualities and velvety finish. Meleah now works actively in fashion, film, photography, and weddings. She works with dancers internationally, updating and teaching effective makeup techniques. She has produced a video “Face-It, Stage Make-up Techniques for the Belly Dancer," which has helped many dancers learn the tricks of make-up application.
