LuciaSAMEDA Presidentpresident@sdsameda.comLucia, our new President, is a recognized performer known for her graceful Egyptian Style Dance and technique. Lucia is an award winning artist, earning the 2005 Belly Dancer of the Universe Champion in the Egyptian Category and a finalist in the Belly Dancer of the Year Pageant. Lucia is also one of San Diego's Raqs Sharki instructors and troupe directors. She enjoys producing Professional Dance Galas and Student Recitals. During her career, Lucia has received training in the art of Middle Eastern dance from some of the finest International Artists and danced at a variety of prestigious venues. This include performing at shows featuring Superstar Middle Eastern Artists Amr Diab, Ihab Tawfik, Faten Salama, Aida Nour, Nabila Mettuali, Leila and for RJ Reynolds Concert Promotions. 
Lucia has been an active member and Advertising Director for SAMEDA for several years. She looks forward to working with the Board and the Dance Community to enrich the quality of Middle Eastern Dance and Art in California. As President, Lucia plans to continue educating the public about this exquisite art while enhancing the dance community. "My goals include improving the quality of dance in our community and networking with other sister organizations. We need to work in harmony to promote this unique art - so that all may continue to enjoy the benefits of Middle Eastern Dance - individually, as a group and in the community. We are so fortunate to have this opportunity to grow and achieve together. Let's do it!"
